Resolve

New Year’s resolutions are fine, I think. It’s a particular way of addressing things that I don’t personally ascribe to, but I get why folks do. I definitely connect to the idea of thresholds (of which New Year’s certainly is one) as a way to reconnect to what is important, and to set intentions. What I tend to notice is an increase in the folks at the gym from around January 2nd through around February 4th or 5th. Back in my yoga days, the classes were always full in January. After about the first week of February, things tend to normalize again. I’m sure we could all posit reasons for this. I’m not sure it matters. What is your resolution, for me, isn’t the question I’m interested in. I’m more interested in the quality of life you want to create for yourself, your loved ones, and the world in the new year. What would that look and feel like? From that place, it really doesn’t matter if you get there by hitting the gym 5 days a week, or getting in a 30 minute walk with a loved one. Including you.

Regardless of how you bring in the new year, may it be one full of joy, love, connection, and the fullness of Being. Happy New Year, world.
