Bored stiff

Yesterday I was listening to part of Tim Ferriss’s conversation with Seth Godin. There’s a ton of stuff that could be unpacked in that discussion, but the thing that I’ve been sitting with for a bit is when Seth Godin said, …I learned from Neil Gaiman that the best way to defeat writers block is through boredom.” It stopped me for a moment.

It occurred to me that boredom would be a fascinating practice. So I decided to give it a go. And then I started to hedge. And suddenly, I realized, I was dancing with what on the surface looked like a wee bit of fear. Fascinating. Fear emerges around the edges of boredom. Must be something there, no?

Well, you know what they say.

Stay tuned.
