One and then another
I’m thinking about stepping back into National Poetry Writing Month - aka #NaPoWriMo - again this year. I did it last year, and found it to be quite enjoyable, if slightly stressful sometimes. Again, this year, I’ll be out of town for part of it, but this time I won’t be in a situation where writing and posting is difficult. Instead, I suspect I’ll be given much more fuel for the project.
This morning, almost as if lubricating the poetic mind, I wrote some lines. A couple I liked. Such as:
Write one bad poem and then another -
don’t pretend to be going anywhere. Simply
walk. Walk with the gaze scanning the
horizon - near and far.
and
How many tweets might it take to tell the story
of a single leaf? There arne’t enough characters
in our alphabet, but the world has birthed plenty.
This could be fun.
