Here I Am
Where to start is a common question for me. I’d like to say I’m always able to come up with a satisfactory answer, but I’m not. My default, if I’m not careful, is to freeze up. Sometimes, I have to willfully blast past the paralysis. What I’ve learned in that is that there often isn’t a “right place” to start. Generally, the answer is: here.
There is this word in Hebrew: hinaini. It’s spoken in various parts of the Torah. As I understand it, it means, Here I Am. It’s generally spoken by one of the many characters to God. A perfect way to say how can we start anywhere else?
