The simplicity in front of us
My friend Shannon just pointed out the blaringly obvious — I’ve had the good fortune to be a part of things where what mattered was being there. Sure, there were lessons, there were methods and techniques being taught, but the understood foundation (even when not understood consciously) was the fact of being there. Oh, and belonging in that presence1.
Places like meditation and yoga retreats, integral leadership programs, spiritual communities. These spaces helped to cultivate within me an appreciation for the simplicity of what is right in front of us.
It’s this simplicity that I wish for us all.
Apologies for the redundancy.↩
