The invitation

What if we take the premise that life is a training ground1? What if that’s the full extent of the premise2? What would that tell us about literally everything? Our joy? Our frustration? The way we eat. The way we pay attention? Each choice. Each moment.

It seems to me that this is what’s at the heart of a lot of spiritual practice. It also seems to me that it’s a way to not have to worry about things so much. Let’s just train to our best ability.


  1. Not work. Not relationships. Life. The whole thing.

  2. Meaning, not a training ground for an afterlife, or a next life. Simply a training ground. Full stop.
